Esztergom Experience Bath

The building is located on Esztergom’s Primate Island, separated from the historic city by the small Danube branch, with a beautifully wooded shoreline walkway. The building offers a perfect view of the dome of the basilica. A significant urban development began with the construction of the spa. The city’s leadership aims to further develop tourism through initiatives such as extended opening hours for the bath, the creation of new hotels, and the enhancement of hospitality services for visitors.

The design aims to create an efficient, well-functioning floor plan within a deliberately modern 21st-century building that blends seamlessly into the green surroundings of Primate Island, with its unique forms. The interior spaces offer guests an exciting experience, providing direct visual contact with the view of the basilica.

The TECU copper cladding connects with the green surroundings, echoing the copper cladding of the basilica’s dome. Additionally, the copper material adds a sense of nobility and beauty, underscoring the public significance of the bathhouse. As a result, the entire façade—except for the glass surfaces—is covered in TECU copper cladding, which forms the striking base character of the building, resembling a large crystal emerging from the ground.
